About me

I am a recent graduate of Taylor University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and am currently a full-time MBA student at Anderson University. While my background is engineering, it has never been the only thing that has defined my professional experience or my values. Throughout my time at Taylor, I tried to stay involved in the things I cared about outside of the classroom as well, particularly music, running, and the communities that came with them. Between engineering, collegiate athletics, multiple musical ensembles, and working throughout college, I learned just as much about perseverance, time management, and working with others as I did from my coursework.

My Passions & Interests Include:

Athletics

I competed for Taylor University’s Men’s Cross Country and Track teams from 2022 to 2024. Highlights include an 8K in 30:57.2 at the 2022 Ray Bullock Invitational and an 8K in 29:57.6 at the 2022 Louisville Classic; on the track I ran a 3,000m in 9:48.66 at the 2023 Trojan Invite and a 5,000m in 17:07.40 at the 2023 Ball State Challenge. Additional cross country results include an 8K in 29:44.5 at the 2023 Ray Bullock Invitational and an 8K in 30:22.6 at the 2023 Louisville Classic. Balancing collegiate running with a demanding engineering degree was challenging but strengthened my work ethic—consistency, persistence, and the habit of showing up even when progress was slow now guide how I approach both engineering projects and life.

Music

Music has been central to my life. My main instrument is French horn, and I also sing and play piano/keys. While studying Mechanical Engineering at Taylor (2022–2026) I took music theory and performed in ensembles at Taylor and in the community: Taylor Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Chorale; Anderson Orchestra, Anderson Wind Ensemble; and Yorktown Community Band. In 2024 I was named Principal Horn for the Indiana Music Education Association Intercollegiate Honor Band. I’ve continued performing beyond college, including the May 5, 2024 Youth Symphony Orchestras of East Central Indiana program. Music gives me a creative outlet distinct from engineering yet relies on the same skills: attention to detail, discipline, listening, and continual improvement.

Coffee

Throughout much of my time at Taylor University between 2022 and 2026, I also worked at Starbucks in Upland. Working while carrying an engineering course load and participating in extracurricular activities forced me to become much more intentional with my time. More importantly, Starbucks gave me experience that engineering classes could not. Working in a fast-paced environment meant communicating constantly, learning how to work effectively with many different personalities, handling stressful situations, and still providing a good experience for the person standing on the other side of the counter. Over time, I took on greater responsibility within the store, giving me experience helping lead a team while still being willing to step in wherever I was needed.
